You wish you were this Aussie.

Mate, you don’t even bloody begin to be as Aussie as I am. You are nothin’ but a flamin’ mongrel, while I’m a true blue dinkie-die Australian bloke. Bloody oath mate.

BLOODY OATH.

Okay, now I’ve got that out of my system, what are we talking about today? Let’s see… first of all, a few people (a couple of people (two people)) asked if I might upload a larger version of the first strip so that you can see all the pretty little drawing that went into it in even more detail. You know what? Ask and you shall receive. Just click the cute thumbnail and get a massive picture. Sweet, huh?

Deh Thumbnail. You know you wanna click it. GO ON CLICK IT.

That’s what this web comic is all about: INTERACTIVITY — ask and you shall receive. Well, it’s not only about that. In fact mostly it’s about the adventures of a character named Thomas Hannigan in a magical and weird land named Townsville. But you know what? It’s also about interactivity.

I want you to be able to talk to me, and me to be able to talk to you. Sure, I’m the author, and I say what goes, dammit… but I’m also really open here. I need ideas — I need communication. I need concepts, places to go, things to see, people to eat and I am clearly too tired to be writing this post right now.

In fact I’m tired of talking about interactivity. Let’s talk about wingmen at nightclubs.

I am not one to go out drinking and nightclubbing — because frankly I don’t drink. I know, it sorta puts lie to the whole, “I’m more Aussie than you,” thing, doesn’t it? Heck, there are Americans currently rooming in Canada with Spanish emmigrants who are more Aussie than me just because they have tasted a beer in a blue can that Australians don’t even drink any more.

So I don’t drink.

So there’s not an enormous amount of appeal to night clubs. People get drunk, and are kinda horrible to talk to. But I decided since it’s part of the Townsville experience I should get out there and bloody-well experience it a few times so I can write about it. Research. It’s what they call research. Plus, there’s chicks. Hobart, that is my best mate Andrew Hobart, suggested we go out on Halloween night so he could dress up. He chose to dress up as Jason Voorhees.

You can check out some pictures of him here:

There’s also an embarrassing one of him rocking out using the machete — but I don’t need to link to that one here.

Guess what? Jason Vorhees is seriously the best wing man of all time. No Fort, Kanye can’t interupt me and think of someone who’s better — Jason is the best. Why? Because if the costume is done well it has the perfect combination of elements. First: the ladies are so terrified that they just HAVE to come closer. Second: Jason doesn’t talk so the ladies have to talk to you. Next halloween, or costume party, or whatever, you try it, man. Make your friend go as a seriously shit-scaring-out-of-you Leatherface, or Michael Myers or Jason and you go as Arthur Dent.

You will be consoling, chatting to, and hanging out with chicks the entire night.

Now I just wish I was Aussie enough to do something more with this information. Instead all I’ve got is the ability to blog about it. Yay me.

(Seriously, though — hello to anyone who was out there at the clubs in town on Saturday night. Drop me a line — comment on how your Halloween went boys and girls.)
